The Grates, Live At The Metro

The Grates are a three-piece band from Brisbane, Australia, comprising Patience Hodgson (vocals), John Patterson (guitar) and Alana Skyring (drums). Their debut album Gravity Won't Get You High will be released in the US on August 29th. It was released in Australia in April of this year and debuted at #9 on the Australian charts. Most of the songs from this May 5, 2006 set at The Metro Theatre in Sydney are featured on Gravity Won't Get You High, with the exception of Message which is the first track on their debut EP, The Ouch. The Touch. I saw these three open for The Go! Team when they came through Austin last year, and I can't think of any other band I've seen that performs with such a liberal dose of fun.
