I know very little about the band Pink Mountaintops. I know that they just finished a big tour with the Cold War Kids, and I know that the band has put out a few releases on the constantly impressive Jagjaguwar record label. Jag has recently brought us Okkervil River, Sunset Rubdown, and The Besnard Lakes, among others.

Pink Mountaintops play music that is something along the lines of hippie-rock-blues, and their latest release Axis of Evol "pulses like a black-light lava lamp inside a stoner's soot-covered conversion van." Check out two nice cuts from the new release, they sound a bit like what you would find at the intersection of VietNam and Kings of Leon.

Great band! Have you heard stuff off the self-titled album? "Can You Do That Dance" is incredibly catchy. Have you checked out any of the Black Mountain stuff as well... basically the same band, but... darker.
