Smashing live Pumpkins

The Smashing Pumpkins, live at The Riviera Theater in Chicago on October 23, 1995. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness was released the next day, debuting at #1 and eventually becoming one of the best-selling double albums ever. Most of the set comes from Mellon Collie and Siamese Dream, while they close the show with three Cheap Trick covers, "Baby Loves to Rock", "If You Want My Love", and "Auf Wiedersehen." I skipped the Pumpkins (not really a fan of that relic band) but I absolutely loved everything else you put up there. Special kudos for Clear Tigers (thanks!), Pedro (the new Beck?) and The Snake The Cross The Crown!

This trip over to Austin was a most rewarding visit!

oh god this makes me miss the good old days of the good ol' Pumpkins.

I remember listening to this concert as it was being broadcast on the radio that night.

The power went out during Zero, and there was about 10 minutes of the band making funny banter on stage. It was classic!

It made me real excited to buy Mellon Collie the next day...
