A Decemberists SXSW
The Decemberists have a thematic new album, The Hazards of Love, scheduled for release on March 24. The band also has something special planned for those attending SXSW. On March 18, The Decemberists will headline NPR's SXSW showcase at Stubb's, where they will perform all 17 songs from The Hazards of Love in sequence – how the band intends for the record to be heard.
This will be the very first time the album has been played live, and NPR Music will offer a live webcast and broadcast the entire concert. I don't listen to The Decemberists much these days, but this is an awesome way to debut an album. They even beat most bloggers to the punch, offering up a new track, "The Rake's Song" for free download via their official website.
