OBN III's could be defined as a local supergroup. Front man Orville Bateman Neeley also fronts the punk trio Bad Sports, and plays drums in A Giant Dog and James Arthur's Manhunt. Graham Low (bass) and Andrew Cashen (guitar) are also members of A Giant Dog, and Matt Hammer (drums) was a founding member of the Strange Boys. Jason Smith rounds out the 5-piece on guitar.

What the OBN IIIs mainly do is get together and shred. The music is loud, fast, angry, and filled with a classic garage punk swagger. Every riff of the guitar, every crash of the drum, every vocal howl, they all go to 11. It's a simple, yet highly explosive formula.

In 2011 they cranked out two singles, a self-titled EP, and a full-length album titled The One And Only. You can get 'em at Tic Tac Totally and Super Secret Records. Or on itunes.

In recent news, OBN IIIs will be featured on the upcoming Matador Records Singles Going Home Alone Subscription Series. They also just graced the cover of Maximum Rock & Roll.

Their next two shows are at Beerland on January 6, and at the Mohawk on January 7. Both shows are free of course, as it is Free Week. You can keep up with the OBN III's on facebook.
