Fun Fun Fun Fest is proud to announce the lineup for the 7th annual festival to be held November 2 – 4, 2012 at Auditorium Shores in Austin, TX.
The 2012 lineup includes the spectacular reunion shows of artists like Run-D.M.C., Refused, Public Image Ltd., Braid and The Promise Ring. This year’s headliners announced also include Santigold, Turbonegro, X, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, A$AP Rocky and Hannibal Buress. This full lineup builds on the list of already announced artists, including Atlas Sound, Baroness, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Starfucker, Rakim, Lagwagon, The Head & The Heart, Danny Brown, David Cross, Bob Mould, Tomahawk and Against Me!. Additional acts may be announced in August and September.
Festival producers Transmission Events are bringing another year of exciting, genre-blurring entertainment ranging from indie rock to hip hop, punk to dance, metal to comedy. They continue to further their reputation as a festival offering rarely-seen performances, highly anticipated reunions, new and up-and-coming talent and an eclectic arrangement of artists not likely to be seen performing at the same event anywhere else.
“We book fun fun fun fest, like a festival we'd want to go to and we'd want to see. Ideally, we're always attempting to book the scene's dream line up (or closest we can get) each year in diversity and scope. Adding Run-DMC this year, just put it over the top and made that dream come true,” said Graham Williams, Founder and Producer of the festival. “My first record I owned was Raising Hell, which I got in 2nd grade and that bad boy still holds up!”
As always, Fun Fun Fun Fest will bring in Austin’s favorite local food and fashion vendors, along with the poster art of Flatstock, giving festival-goers an experience unique to Austin and the festival. This year, Fun Fun Fun Fest also gives a respectful nod to one of the city’s other beloved festivals, which also took place on the shores of Lady Bird Lake in decades past, Aqua Fest.
Weekend 3-day passes are now on sale, including PIP (Pretty Important People) passes. Single day passes, artist lineup by day and time, student discounts and more will be coming in August. Stay tuned for chances to win tickets in the member’s area at funfunfunfest.com, during Fun Fun Fun Fest’s annual Scavenger Hunts across Texas, the second annual Fun Fun Fun Fest Aqua Olympics, and on Twitter and Facebook. The schedule for FFFest Nites will be announced later this summer – all afterparties are free with a festival wristband.
