FUZZ is Ty Segall (drums/vocals), Charles Moothart (guitar/vocals), and Roland Cosio (bass), three California-bred rockers who've been refining their riffs together since high school. Way back in the early '00s, all three played in the Epsilons. FUZZ was formed in/around 2011 as a collaboration between Segall and Moothart (who also plays in the Ty Segall Band), but it's only within the last year that the pair had sufficient time to guide the band out of side-project limbo and into a recording studio.

The band's self-titled debut LP, which was recorded by Chris Woodhouse (Thee Oh Sees, The Intelligence), draws inspiration from heavy metal pre-history with nods to Sabbath and Hendrix. The album is out October 1st on In The Red and available for pre-order beginning this Sunday night, September 15th at

While on their North American tour, FUZZ will play Austin on Friday, October 4 at Red 7.

Fuck yeah! I haven't heard a rock band like this in forever. They do the old school stoner garage rock power trio thing, but make it sound new. So many people try this and fail. Makes me feel young again.
